Tyre Fitting and Balancing

Having correctly balanced wheels is extremely important. Not only do they make a difference to how comfortable your drive is and how safe your car or vehicle is, but unbalanced wheels can wear out tyres, steering components and suspension joints quicker which makes your vehicle less economical on fuel than correctly balanced wheels. An indication that your wheels need balancing is that when speed exceeds around 40mph, the steering wheel starts to wobble and the faster you go the greater the vibration becomes.

Tyre Replacement Cambridge

New Tyres

We can supply new premium tyre brands, mid-range, economy and budget tyres. Some of the premium brand tyres include makes such as Dunlop, Goodyear, Pirelli, bridgestone and Continental. Mid-range tyres include makes such as Avon, Firestone, Hankook, Uniroyal and Yokohama plus many other makes of premium tyre brands, mid-range, economy and budget tyres.

Part Worn Tyres

We also supply part worn tyres in lots of different makes, we make sure these have a tread depth of at least 5mm giving you lots of life still left in the tyre. Replacing your tyres when you need to do so is important. As well as improving the amount of grip a tyre has to the road which is especially important on wet surfaces, keeping your vehicle safely on the road it also decreases your risk of getting a puncture and makes your car more economical on fuel.

Check your Tyres regularly!

The legal tyre tread depth is 1.6mm, although for both comfort and safety we recommend replacing before this. There are many factors that affect the life of your tyre – these include temperature, use, speed and pressure. Checking the general condition of your tyres is extremely important, you can do this by inspecting the depth of your tyre regularly and ensuring your tyres have the correct pressure is important. As part of your tyre check, make sure you watch out for signs of ageing, such as cracking of the rubber, deformation or uneven tyre wear.
