Breakdown Recovery: What to expect when you call us

We’re going to outline the breakdown recovery process from start to finish, giving you an overview of what to expect from the minute you pick up the phone. Let’s get started!

The recovery process

Every recovery starts with a phone call. Because we operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you can give us a call at any hour – we’re always going to be there when you need us.

A member of our team will take your call and ask you a few questions about your situation. They’ll need to know where you’re stranded and the extent of the damage to your vehicle (for example, does it still start and drive?). Don’t worry if you’re not sure what’s wrong with your vehicle – that’s where our mechanics and recovery team come in.

Once we’ve ascertained where you’re stranded and which type of recovery truck we need to send, we’ll give you a quote over the phone. You won’t have to pay until the job is complete, however.

Happy to go ahead? We’ll hit the road as quickly as possible. In the meantime, make sure you’re standing behind the barrier at the roadside – don’t be tempted to stay sitting in your vehicle if you’re stranded on a major A road.

Depending on where you’re located, we may be able to reach you in as little as 15-30 minutes. When we get there, we’ll assess the situation and try to determine what’s wrong with your vehicle. If it’s something simple, like a flat battery or punctured tyre, we may be able to fix it at the roadside and send you on your way.

If the issue is more complex, we’ll load your vehicle onto our recovery truck and transport you – and it – to a destination of your choice. This could be a garage, a place of work, your home address or even a friend’s place – it’s up to you. With the job complete, we’ll then take payment. Don’t worry, there won’t be any hidden fees: the price we quoted originally is the price you’ll pay.
